Preparing for your Session
Once you have booked your session, reading and taking note of the information on this page will help you prepare for your first float.
On this website, read and sign the waiver form located here on the navigation tabs.
Although you have received a confirmation for an appointment that is scheduled for 2 hours, you are able to float for up to an hour, meaning that you will not be bound to stay in the tank for a full hour. You are able to exit your session at any time within your hour long session. Your total time spent at Ventura Float Center will be approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes. The balance of 20 minutes gives us time to prepare the room for the next person. *Read more information about this below
You won't need any swimming garments - you will float naturally. Garments are not permitted inside of the float tank due to past “accidents” where a person(s) had worn a garment that had some residue of detergent that left the float tank full of soapy water forcing all appointments to be canceled due the tank needing to be drained and replaced which costs somewhere in the neighborhood of $1,500.00 total. *Please read mention of this in the waiver.
Towels and soap are provided as you will have a shower before you enter the tank and after your session to rinse off all of the salt. We don’t supply personal items such as brushes, combs, and deodorants – things that you would not want to share with others.
If you would rather not have water in your ears due to a condition or just don't like the feeling of it, please shop a nearby pharmacy and purchase "Mack's" brand Pillow Soft Silicone Putty- round silicone ear plugs.
“I see that my confirmation is for 2 hours, but i only want to float for an hour?” First time floaters will float for one hour. The two hour booking covers an orientation, a shower before you enter the tank, up to 1 hour inside of the tank (up to 1 hour because you can exit the tank at anytime within the hour if you like), another shower after you exit the tank to rinse the salt off, and then you will get dressed and leave after having some water. This amount of time will constitute about 1 hour and 30 - 40 minutes of your total stay at Ventura Float Center. The balance of the 2 hours enables the preparation of the float room and tank for the next person.
Bring drinking water for travel after your session. This is very important to help with the distribution of the magnesium that you have “soaked” into your system, and to avoid a headache from dehydration after being in a half ton of salt.
Please call if you have any questions or if you need to cancel or reschedule. Within the waiver is a section that covers the cancellation policy. Thanks again and i'm so happy that you have decided to float at "VFC".
